How is your Internet speed?
We have a very fast (200Mbps) and reliable Fiber optic internet connection with a commercial WIFI system with multiple access points to give you the speed and coverage you need while working from home. The modem and network has an uninterruptible battery backup system to make sure the WIFI is available during power outages.
What do you have for TV entertainment?
Our smart TV’s in each room have IPTV with over 10,000 channels which include all USA/Canada local, news, movie, sports and specialty channels and networks as well as streaming apps such as Netflix, Disney,prime, etc that you can sign into with your own credentials.
Are your vacation rentals seasonal?
Yes, the casitas are available for booking during the dry season typically November through April.
What areas are private or shared?
Your room and en-suite are private but the courtyard, patio, pool, kitchen cabana and parking area is shared with other guests. For the 2 or 3 casita packages, the areas are for the sole use of your party.
Is parking provided?
Yes. We have complimentary, safe and secure vehicle parking in the fenced and gated property. A gate code will be provided to you with the check-in instructions.
Do you have other amenities that you provide?
Yes. We have beach and sports equipment that we rent out per day.
What are your check-in / check-out times?
Check-in is anytime after 3pm. We can however store your luggage if you arrive early and the room is not ready.
Check-out time is before 10am. We can also store your luggage if you have time before leaving the area.
Is late check-out available?
Normally no. Our rooms are normally rented back to back same day and we require 10 am to 3 pm to clean for the next guest.
How to get here from Canada?
The best and fastest way is a direct Westjet flight from Calgary or Toronto to Liberia, CR. The flight is overnight and takes around 6.5 hours! Liberia is 100km from Casa Vistas del Rio and takes approximately 1.5 to 2 hours to drive. There are also much cheaper flight alternatives if you don’t mind spending the night somewhere. Let us know if you need to reserve a private shuttle from the airport to the property.
Do the casita rentals have a living room?
No, there is no living room. The Casitas have a smart TV and seating in the room and the outdoor kitchen/dining has plenty of comfy seating.
Can I bring pets?
Pets are only allowed with the 3 Casita package. Renting individual casistas, they are not allowed. See our Pet Policy.
Do we need to rent a vehicle or can we walk to town?
You do not have to rent a vehicle if you would prefer to hale a taxi. The property is 3 Km from Samara and the beach and the 30 to 40 minute walk is not recommended on the busy highway with no shoulders. With a vehicle, it is a 4 minute drive. I provide a shuttle service to/from town.
Do you recommend drinking the water? Do we need to purchase bottled water?
Unlike some countries, the water in Costa Rica is very safe to drink. Most vacation rentals, hotels and restaurants filter their water as well, and rarely do you ever hear of anyone disagreeing with it. So please feel free to drink the water around town in order to save you a lot of money while helping the Costa Rican environment. The water here at Casa Vistas del Rio is safe to drink but we recommend drinking the cold, filtered water & ice from the fridge.
